However, sometimes things can and do go wrong. Wedding insurance provides financial protection in the event things don’t go to plan. The policy offered provides cover for weddings and civil partnerships up to £50,000.

As with any other major financial commitment you make throughout your life such as purchasing a car or a home, you want to make sure you have financial protection in place just in case something does go wrong.

Wedding insurance covers a wide range of risks such as the following:
  • Cancellation caused by illness to you, your partner or a close family member
  • Cancellation or rearrangement due to extreme weather conditions such as a floods or natural catastrophe
  • Financial protection due to failure of wedding venues and wedding suppliersLoss, damage or theft of items
  • such as wedding rings, cake, ceremonial attire, photography and gifts
  • Public Liability for the wedding participants and for guests
So wedding insurance can provide peace of mind and financial protection for a range of unfortunate circumstances. In some cases your chosen wedding venue may also request that you take out insurance to protect your big day.

Cancellation/rearrangement due to illness, injury or death of the wedding participants or a close relative

Cancellation/rearrangement due to adverse weather conditions such as floods, snow and natural catastrophe
Financial protection
Cover for loss of deposits and payments if any of your wedding suppliers go bankrupt, into liquidation or administration
Loss, theft, or damage of key items
Loss, theft or damage of key items such as ceremonial attire, wedding gifts, rings, flowers and cake
Personal liability
All our policies provide personal liability up to £2m as standard. This can also be extended to cover public liability for an additional premium
Nil excess
Nil excess on cancellation, curtailment, rearrangement and Professional Counselling
Additional Covers Available
Optional £2m Public Liability, Wedding Abroad Extension, COVID-19 extension, Marquee Cover, Ceremonial Swords and Excess Waiver
Optional COVID-19 extension
Cover for death, serious illness due to a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis, which prevents participation and/or attendance as planned in the wedding
Excess Waiver
For an optional additional premium, you can choose to reduce your excess to zero for all sections of the policy
